This book was really good. It told about a young man going to live in his grandfather's house when he gets out of the hospital where he had been getting over his trauma from fighting in Afghanistan.

Story told by a young girl who finds herself trying to survive in San Francisco during the Gold Rush while her father has gone to the gold fields. She also has her younger brother to keep track of and who disappears. She now, with the help of two friends, must find her brother.

Story about sleeping in a tent in the backyard.

I really enjoyed this book. A fast read and good story line.

About going out to get apples and pumkins.
